  • Sam likes Queenie and Coco the best – Benjamin loves Toots. We can’t wait to meet them in person!

  • Toots is the most curious in a lot of ways. When we come over, she’s the first to notice, and she stares and stares. Queenie is the boldest, though, so when we feed them from our hand, she likes to stand right in the palm, and when I took pictures, she wanted to peck at the lens. Coco was the smallest (and still is) but she got feathers before any of the others. And while all the others are developing combs (those nobby fleshy bits on their beaks), Coco remains pretty smooth, which makes her look the most bird like and the least dinosaur like of the group.

  • Yeah, why do those cute little chicks have to turn into dinosaurs to lay eggs?

  • Queenie reminds me of what I think a Toucan chick would look like.

  • CJA – I think that’s good. Sometimes when I look at her I think vulture.

  • Yay! What kind are they? Love their names! You are going to love their eggs!

  • NIcola – Two Dominiques, two Golden Campines, and one Blue Hamburg. All small birds, all good foragers, all heritage breeds.
