I love this place.

We’ve been living at Headquarters for almost six months now. I think I had started to take some of it for granted. But I was away for a week vacationing with family and South Dakota, and when I got back, we had a friend come and visit. And the combination of stepping away for awhile and sharing it with someone new has me falling in love all over again.

There was a storm the night our friend arrived, and we stood out in the shed in the dark, watching the lightning and listening to the thunder. And when the storm cleared, there was a strip of sunset left on the horizon, and lightning bugs twinkling way out into the surrounding fields. It was pure magic.
